35th
Annual
VonWald Group Home
Golf Outing
The 35th annual golf
outing was held on September 11, 2008 at Willow Creek Golf Course in Rochester.
Hosted by Olmsted County Sheriff Steve VonWald, and sponsored by Midwest
Specialized Transportation, Inc., the event began with teams
heading out for a day of fun and golf. There were prizes for:
Best Shot with 6 person teams
Hole-In-One
Closest-to-Pin
Putting Tournament
After golf, everyone came into the clubhouse for a great dinner and
silent auction. The silent auction was a wonderful success! Over 100 items
were auctioned and we have several local businesses to thank for their
support! Funds raised from the silent auction benefit capital improvements
at the VonWald Group Home in Rochester. Thank you to the Rochester
area businesses and individuals for donating items to the silent auction in
support of our 35th Annual VonWald Group Home Golf Outing.

25th
Annual Wagon Train for
Youth
The 25th Annual event
was held on September 12, 13 and 14 at the Waseca County Fairgrounds. The
Wagon Train for Youth is hosted by the Waseca County Sheriffs Mounted Posse
and sponsored by the Minnesota Sheriffs Mounted Posse Association in 2008
and 2009.
We had several
returning wagons and horses for the event this year, and some new attendees.
The weather cooperated on Friday, then on Saturday we had rain! That didn't
stop our fun! The wagon train traveled 22 miles on Friday, 18 miles on
Saturday, and 11 miles on Sunday.
With good food all
weekend, door prizes and music and dancing on Saturday everyone had a fun
filled weekend. Posse members and individuals raised money for SYP to be
used for capital improvements throughout our agency. We appreciate the
support of the businesses who very generously gave their support
in donated door prizes to our event.

Annual Patrick W Smith Sr.
Memorial Hunt
The
Patrick W Smith Sr. Memorial Hunt was another great success this year!
Despite the rain, we had a record participant turn out, including some of
our favorite Vikings players! You'll have to check out the pictures page!
Everyone had a lot of fun - several auction items were purchased and a lot
of money was raised to help support capital projects at our programs'
facilities. LeSueur County Sheriff David Gliszinski hosted the 6th Annual
event at Traxler's Hunting Preserve. Traxler's again welcomed our event in a
safe and fun environment with great food!
