SUMMER CAMP 2010

For over 25  years, Sheriff's Youth Programs has offered Summer Camp at Mille Lacs Kathio State Park.  Programming includes the park Nature Center for education, appreciation and enjoyment.  The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's office also provides weekly educational sessions in safety and rescue.

Other activities include swimming, hiking, canoeing, campsite games, crafts and fishing!  In 2008 a ropes course was added.

Since 2008 Sheriffs Youth Programs has offered Summer Camp in cooperation with Independent School District 622, for children attending Recovery Camp.  Students attending this camp receive education in recovery skills, along with educational and experiential programming. We are very excited about this program and the opportunity it offers for students at risk of not graduating. The Recovery Camp allows those students to receive credit for attendance.

In 2009, Sheriffs Youth Programs began offering day camp at our Rum River Equestrian Farm in Princeton, MN. Campers range from beginner to advanced WSCA game riders.  Campers learn the basics of horse care, enjoy riding and put together a show event for their final day at camp.
